Sweet 'n Sour Chicken: Slow-Cooked Chicken Chunks served in a Sweet 'n Sour Sauce over Steamed Rice. Steamed Broccoli with Mushroom Pieces accompanied by Wax Beans.

Spaghetti with Meat Sauce: Spaghetti Noodles served with a Rich Traditional Italian Meat Sauce, Seasoned Italian Green Beans, Diced Pears and an Oatmeal Cookie.

We are proud to announce a new project for Solid Rock Lutheran Church. After much anticipation, we will be a location for the distribution of Angel Food Ministries. We feel this program will be a benefit to the community, especially during these trying economical times. For just $30, you can purchase a food basket worth, roughly $60-$75. There is also a pre-cooked, ready-to-heat senior package for $25.

What is Angel Food Ministries?

Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit, non-denominational organization dedicated to providing grocery relief and financial support to communities throughout the United States. The program began in 1994 with 34 families in Monroe, Georgia (between Atlanta and Athens), and has grown to serve hundreds of thousands of families every month across 35 states. Angel Food Ministries crosses denominational lines and has spread the good news of the gospel of Christ through salvation tracts that are placed in each food order.

Who qualifies?

Everyone, there are no applications or qualifications to order Angel Food.

Where does the food come from?

Our food is “restaurant grade” meats, frozen vegetables, fruits, dairy products, etc. which we acquire through our involvement with only the best producers/vendors of high quality, “name brand” foods. Never “seconds” or “day old” type products are involved.

Can we receive more than one unit or special?

Yes, you can order as many regular units as you would like. To receive a special box you must first order a regular unit.

Where do I get the main menus and special order menus from?

You have two options: 1) you can check the Solid Rock website 2) Angel Food Ministries website or 3) check the bulletin – we will post and print menus as soon as they become available to us, which is normally a month before the orders need to be placed.

How can I pay for the food?

Cash - At this time, we will not be accepting checks, but may in the future.

Who do we call to place orders?

You would call Solid Rock Lutheran at 205-467-7911 and leave a message for Lisa. I will return calls to confirm the order will be placed.

Where do I pick up my food and how is it packed?

Solid Rock Lutheran Church – Hwy 11, Argo. This location is convenient for families in Trussville, Argo, Odenville and Springville.

Directions:

Take US 11 north towards Springville. Follow past the Argo Drive-In. We will be on the left hand side.

If coming from 59 going N, get off at the Argo exit and turn left. We will be on the left hand side, right on hwy 11! You can't miss our sign... We hope to see you there!

One of our volunteers will also carry it to your car for you.

Are there other locations that offer Angel Food Ministries?

There are other locations throughout Alabama. You can visit the Angel Food Ministry website to find a Host location (angelfoodministries.org). In Birmingham, the LifeChurch is one of a number of locations. You may contact Tammy or Brook at 986-5433. LifeChurch is located at

Can I donate a food box to anyone?

If you know of a family that could benefit from an order of food, you may purchase one for them anonymously and we will send them a letter to let them know a box of food will be awaiting them and what day to pick it up.

What days do orders need to be placed by? What are distribution dates?

You can check the Solid Rock website (solidrocklutheranchurch.org) monthly incase changes are made.

Solid Rock will be open for order placement and payments on the following dates from 9-10am:

September 6 and 13

October 4 and 11

November 1 and November 8

November 29 and December 6

Distribution Dates (10:30am - 11:15am):

October pick-up is the 25^th

November pick-up is the 22^nd.

December pick up is the 20^th.
